One key goal of Project R.O.A.R is to provide Professional Development to the teachers in the 14 Head Start classrooms, included in the grant. Monthly Professional Development meetings are held in order to increase the teacher’s knowledge and ability to deliver appropriate instruction in early literacy, specifically phonological awareness, oral language development, concepts of print and alphabetic principle. These meetings are also held to improve the staff’s knowledge in the use of administration of screenings, progress monitoring and summative assessments.
