Summer Institute has been held each year of the grant. Many renowned professionals provided training in various fields related to literacy. During each day of the institute, several different workshops were held. Some of the guest speakers of the Summer Institute included Mr. Al, Mary Hitchcock, Mary Jo Huff, Ruth Ann Ball.

  Teachers gained valuable information on improving the literacy skills of the children. They also were presented with a vast amount of literacy tools and materials to achieve their goals of having a literacy rich environment for their classrooms.
