Valliant III Teacher Idea

Construction Paper Strip Pumpkins

Materials needed:
one piece of orange construction paper
half a sheet of green construction paper
two brads
scissors

Give the child the orange construction paper and have them cut the paper long ways into strips. Don't worry about jagged edges. It will just add character to their pumpkin. After they have cut the orange strips, have them cut one strip of green. Stack all orange strips together and poke holes in both ends with a hole punch.

Loop green strip over and line it up with the holes on one end of the orange strips. Place a brad in through the green and orange holes then place another brad in the other end of the orange strips. Help the child fan out the strips. Now you have an adorable pumpkin for Fall. Triangle eyes can be glued onto two strips to make eyes to create a jack o' lantern for Halloween.
