Choose a VIP of the Week. Have children decorate the "All About Me" poster with their families. These posters can be found at the Office Equipment Center in Paris, TX or through other school supply stores. After the child has brought back their poster, have them talk about the photos and things they have placed onto it. Then present them with their VIP of the week trophy and certificate. Take a photo of the child and send it into the newspaper to be published. The trophies can be purchased through Oriental Trading and can be personalized.
Study different events for each day of the year by going to kinderart.com We studied the Chinese New Year. We watched the Chinese New Year's Parade on the SMARTBoard and talked about the fifteen days in this holiday. We also created our own fireworks by placing glue onto black construction paper and pouring glitter onto the glue.
