Battiest Teacher Idea
When reading the Breakthrough to Literacy book, Whose Shoes, take photos of each child's shoes while they are on their feet. Take another photo of the child from head to toe. Make a personalized book for each child by replacing some of the words in the story. Place the picture of the child's shoes on one page with the caption, "two shoes, new shoes, whose shoes are these shoes?" just like the BTL story. On the next page place the picture of the entire child and write the child's name, such as, "Shailey's shoes". Bind and laminate the books when they have been completed.
Another idea that can be used for a Spring bulletin board is to take a photo of each child holding one arm up while making a fist. Then have each child cut out a large diamond shape and several small rectangle shapes. Have the child name each shape as they cut them out. Place the rectangle pieces along a piece of yarn and then place the large diamond at the top. Connect the yarn to the photo, next to the child's fist. It will look like the child is holding a kite.
